In response to the State of Hawai‘i’s declaration of emergency ahead of Tropical Storm/Hurricane Lala, Bishop Michael T. T. Castori, SJ, has granted a dispensation from the obligation to attend Mass on Sunday, August 16, 2026, for all those affected by the inclement weather.
With potentially unsafe or prohibited travel conditions, the safety and well-being of our parishioners and community remain a priority. Those who may be affected by the storm should use their best judgment and avoid unnecessary travel.
For those who are unable to attend Mass, the Diocese encourages the faithful to spend time reading the Word of God and in prayer to mark the Lord’s Day.
As we prepare for the approaching storm, we join together in prayer for the safety and protection of our families, parish community, first responders, and all those who may be affected.
