Senior Adult Ministry

Our Senior Ministry recognizes and celebrates the vital role that seniors play in our parish. Their hard work, life experiences and involvement in various ministries add richness to both the practical and spiritual aspects of our parish community. Our ministry endeavors to provide a variety of activities to allow interested seniors to be informed, engaged and entertained. We may offer informational talks on topics of interest to seniors (such as Medicare). We may also have holiday socials or even rousing games of Bingo. Some activities may include refreshments and door prizes. These events can also allow seniors an opportunity to meet other parishioners who may attend a different Mass or be involved in different ministries. We hope to expand these events and opportunities in the future so that all interested seniors will feel involved, appreciated and recognized as the valuable resource they are to our parish community.

Women's Bible Study Group

Women’s Bible Study meets on Saturday from 10am to 11:30 am in Room 1. Our group provides an opportunity for women who wish to deepen their knowledge and understanding of their faith to come together and learn in a friendly and welcoming gathering. We open each meeting with prayer. Then one of us reads the Gospel for that Sunday from the Bible. Next, one of us reads a commentary on that particular Gospel written by one of the priests.  This commentary explains and interprets the Gospel for that week, and we then discuss the commentary. Listening to and discussing the Gospel before attending Sunday Mass allows us to listen to the sermon with more knowledge and appreciation. We end our gathering with additional prayer. Many of us have found out that meeting frequently with congenial women who have a common purpose lends itself to the formation of lasting friendships. Learning more about the strength and beauty of the Catholic faith gives us a common bond.
