Baptism makes one a member of the body of Christ and incorporates one into the Church, sharing in its mission. The principal effects of Baptism are purification from sins and a new birth in the Holy Spirit. The Catholic Church baptizes all ages. For infants and children (up to the age of 6 years and 364 days old) the Church requires formation and catechesis for parents in preparation for the baptism of their children. Children (ages 7 & up), adolescents, and adults are prepared for Baptism through a process called the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation).

Contact the parish office for the required forms and information that our parish needs for processing before the Baptism Ceremony.

In our Baptism Preparation packet, the following information is provided:

- A Baptism Checklist: for each family to ensure all the necessary requirements have been completed and submitted.

- A Baptism Intake Form.

- Godparent(s) Form: each Godparent must be in Full Communion with the Catholic Church. (There are notes at the back of the form for regulations and requirements of a Godparent(s)). Each child needs a minimum of 1 Godparent; Maximum of 2 (one male, one female).

Both parents are required to attend an interview (20-30 min) with a clergy member. (*Submission of the Intake form and the Child's birth certificate must be submitted before scheduling the baptism clergy interview.)

Both Parents and Godparents are required to attend a Baptism Preparation Class (Valid for 3-years).

Please contact the Parish Secretary for more information on dates of Baptism Ceremonies and the Baptism Preparation Class.
